What does incarnadine mean? (From Shakespeare's Macbeth)

When something is incarnadine, it has turned blood-red.

Will all great Neptune's ocean wash this blood / Clean from my hand? No, this my hand will rather / The multitudinous seas incarnadine, / Making the green one red.

Macbeth, from Shakespeare's Macbeth; Act II, Scene 2.
