Pectoral Girdle

 

Each of the two pectoral (shoulder) girdles consists of two bones: the S‐shaped clavicle and the flat, triangular scapula. The clavicle articulates with the sternum and the scapula. In turn, the scapula articulates with the humerus of the arm. Figure 1 illustrates details of these bones.
