The Tournament at Surluse
Galahalt, lord of Surluse, holds a seven-day tournament, and many of Arthur's knights enlist, some of them in disguise. The tournament comes off splendidly, or so it appears: glorious fighting, feasting, plenty of romance. But the joy of the tournament is not perfect. With every honor won by Pellanor's sons, Gawain and his brothers grow more jealous and more firmly committed to getting their revenge. Moreover, the purpose of the tournament is not as innocent as it seems. It has been set up by Galahalt and the Haute Prince to murder Sir Launcelot, whose glory they envy.
