Summary and Analysis
The Eumenides:
Second Episode, Continued (Lines 276-306)
Orestes prays to Athene again. He says that it is fitting for him to call upon her now because he has been absolved of his guilt by the cleansing ritual he underwent at the Temple of Apollo shortly after the murder, and by his long years of wandering and suffering. Orestes tells Athene that if she saves him and sets him free at last, he and the kingdom of Aegos will be the perpetual allies of Athens.
