Primrose (Prim) Everdeen
Prim is Katniss’ sister and is four years younger than Katniss. Prim takes after their mother, who has light hair and blue eyes, and is a healer like her mother as well, caring for the sick and injured and nursing them back to health. Katniss loves Prim deeply and does everything she can to protect Prim, even volunteering for her at the reaping of the Seventy-fourth Hunger Games.
While in District 13, Katniss is able to spend more time with Prim. Katniss can see that Prim has grown up rather fast and is no longer the little girl who used to walk around with her shirt untucked, her “duck tail” as Katniss called it. Prim is able to comfort Katniss during times of distress, seeming to possess clarity of thought under the most distressing circumstances. She is training to become a doctor in District 13.
